Hello,
So I have been slowly getting back in contact with people to see where we stand with everything. I know some families have been having meetings to go over the information and get feedback on things that were brought up at last meeting.
I just wanted to share some of the feedback I have been getting….

Hi Brenda,

After a little back and forth over how we ever got stuck with ‘calf-shit-yellow’ as a family colour we were able to agree on a few things.

No one wants to pay for supper. And apparently we don’t care if the last people in line don’t get a hot meal. We are without remorse when it comes to food apparently. Or we just love to try each others’ recipes and are never late to the dinner table…. Uncle Dom does bring that big BBQ to all kinds of things and will probably bring it just to show it off filled with 100 chicken legs….12 to 4 in favor for the potluck.

As a family we decided to go with the ‘make-your-own-name-tag’ where all the family colours are there and you write your name on your colour. This way we don’t accidentally spell anyone’s name wrong and we don’t have to organize and search for 300 names. The name tag covers (badge) will be pin on unless I find something more clever. What we will need to have is some kind of head count so that we have enough of each colour pre cut to the size of the badge. I am not sure how close we can get but we could try to put our heads together next meeting.

My immediate family shoot off $700.00 of fireworks annually. I am confident that a 15 to 30 minute fireworks show should be done by a team of 3 to 6 people who do know what they are doing. If we determine that we have this team without my help, no problem. Our large family has honest experts at basically everything. We can all agree not drunk people in charge of the fireworks. It was also brought up that in the case of possible bad weather we may want to look at doing them on Saturday with a weather reschedule planned for Sunday.

I was surprised how many people got excited when we talked about the song books and the camp fire sing-a-long. It would seem the only other thing my family loves as much as eating good food is singing drunk. Aunty Joanne wanted us to ask for more people to bring their guitars to play at the fire.

Uncle Dom said he would bring his karaoke machine if there was interest. This also promotes loud drunk singing…and lots of fun.

As for the bouncy castle, we were split on supervision. No one was against the idea. We went around the room and people said if they would watch if ‘our kids’ were playing in it. Half of us said the kids could play at their own risk and there were some who will watch any of our kids like super heroes out fear that someone is eventually going to loose and eye.

Do you know who is going to be updating the pages of the family book? That is a monster of a task to take on. I didn’t get to updating the pages we did yesterday. I will work on them this week. My Mom did most of the updating so I will give them all another look over to see if we missed something.

And I haven’t forgot about Uncle Joe and Aunty Dedette. Their grand daughter Celine Jeanson is getting married in Manitoba in May. I heard a rumor that none of the family is coming from BC for the event. So I think it would be in poor taste to ask about the reunion ahead of the wedding. I am going to her wedding as is most of my family. I will leave Claudette a list of all the things we have been talking about after the wedding some time. I am sure that she is coming and maybe her boys, but I am not going to ask before the wedding. I already sent Claudette and Celine a ‘save-the-date’ thing back in July and spoke to them both so they do know.

Cheers,
